Summers County 12, Mount View 2 (6 innings)
Hinton – Summers County collected 10 hits and scored in all six innings to defeat Mount View 12-2 in the Class A Region 3, Section 2 elimination game.
The Bobcats travel to Lindside Wednesday to play James Monroe. The Mavericks need one win for the sectional title, while Summers will need to win twice.
Brandan Isaac smacked a home run and had two RBI, giving him 99 for his career. Jake Boone had two hits, driving in three runs, while Ben Lane stole three bases and Robey Brown had a double.
Hunter Muncy had two hits for the Golden Knights.
Charleston Catholic 5, Greenbrier West 3
Charleston – Charleston Catholic earned a hard-fought win over Greenbrier West Tuesday to capture the Class A Region 3, Section 2 title.
The Cavaliers brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh inning before the Irish escaped with the win.
Jonah DiCocco drove in three runs for the Irish and Vincent Scalzo had three hits.
Braydon McClung, Scott McClung and Landon McClung each had an RBI for the Cavaliers. Hayden Ridgeway was the tough-luck loser, scattering eight hits and allowing only four earned runs.
Charleston Catholic will play the winner of James Monroe and Summers County in the regional round next week.
