WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – Showers and thunderstorms return to the area later today in advance of a cold front that stalls just northwest of the region into Friday.
As a result, strong to severe thunderstorms are possible today, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. The primary hazards are damaging wind gusts and large hail, although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
In addition, localized flash flooding could occur in areas hit by repetitive rounds of rainfall or slow-moving thunderstorms.
Chances for showers and thunderstorms will continue through the weekend and into the new work week, with greatest chances for showers and storms during the afternoon and evening hours. Â
