WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – A warm front will lift northward across the area today, providing showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms could become severe this afternoon and evening, with damaging wind the main threat. Localized flash flooding is also a threat, mainly across northern West Virginia.
A cold front will then push through tonight with more showers and thunderstorms.
Below normal temperatures can be expected behind the front Tuesday and Wednesday, with river valley fog forming overnight. A few showers and thunderstorms could linger as an upper-level disturbance slowly pushes across Tuesday into Tuesday night.
High pressure provides dry weather Wednesday and Thursday, then a moisture-starved cold front crosses Thursday night into Friday.
