SISSONVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Sunday, February 19, 2023, around 8:00 PM, Corporal J.L. Miller with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department was responding with other deputies to the Sisson Terrace area in Sissonville after 911 operators received an anonymous tip that a couple of wanted subjects were currently at the location.
One of the suspects was identified as Ervin “Tubby” Page Jr., Page and the other subject were described as arriving in a Dodge pickup truck and deputies confirmed there was an active warrant for Page’s arrest.
While en route to Sisson Terrace, Corporal Miller passed a white Dodge Ram pulling a trailer with no taillights and occupied by two occupants in the 7400 block of Sissonville Drive. Corporal Miller turned around to catch up with the vehicle which was maneuvering through a right curve and out of sight.
As Corporal Miller came around the curve, he noticed the vehicle slowly coasting through the parking lot at Jones Excavating. Corporal Miller initiated a traffic stop to find only one occupant inside the vehicle and got conflicting stories from the driver about the whereabouts of his passenger. The driver was detained while Corporal Miller’s K-9 partner “Max” was deployed to track the fleeing passenger.
K-9 Max tracked to a dark area where a male was found lying face down, hiding his arms and hands, while remaining silent to the deputy’s commands. K-9 Max immediately engaged the male for apprehension. The male was identified as Ervin “Tubby” Page Jr., 54 years old from Sissonville.
As a result of this investigation, Corporal Miller placed Ervin “Tubby” Page Jr., under arrest for one count of fleeing on foot, WV $61-05-17(D), and one count of simple possession of methamphetamine, WV §60A-04-401.
The active warrant for trespassing was executed on Mr. Page and he was arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. Mr. Page posted his own bond of $3000.00 and he was released.
Mr. Page was treated at CAMC General Hospital for the K-9 bite and medically cleared for release. The driver of the Dodge pickup was cited with multiple West Virginia Uniform Traffic Citations, his vehicle was impounded, and he was released.
