SUMMERS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Summers County residents are dealing with snowy roads and power outages after overnight snowfall added 1 to 4 inches across the area.
Primary roads are wet to slushy, while secondary roads remain snow-covered. The Division of Highways (DOH) is working with a full crew to plow and treat roads.
Residents are urged to report fallen trees or utility lines to 911 or call 304-466-3333.
Several reports of downed trees have been received, and the DOH is addressing them as they come in.
Power Outages
Power outages are affecting hundreds of residents in Summers County.
Mon Power reports 395 customers without power, while Appalachian Power (AEP) lists 696 customers affected. Crews are working in the area to restore power, phone, and internet services. Restoration times are not yet available.

Warming stations will be opened at the following locations if requested:
- Talcott School Gym
- Forest Hill Volunteer Fire Department
- Summers County Memorial Building
