BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Representatives with the Raleigh County Family Resource Center on Sunday were presented with a check and an array of supplies by St. Luke Lutheran Church.
Presented to Raleigh County Family Support Center Executive Director Kellie Gunnoe and Program Services Coordinator Phylecia Martin and totalling at $1,520.00, the funds were collected as part of St. Luke Lutheran Church’s community service project on which they have been developing in recent months.
“We are so appreciative of all of your efforts and of you thinking of us this fall,” said Gunnoe during the presentation ceremony on Sunday. “We can’t do it without you.”
The service project emphasizes the Raleigh County Family Support Center’s Baby Pantry which, through a community partnership with One Voice, provides resources and support for caregivers of small children ages 0 to 3.
“We provide all kinds of different services depending on what families need,” said Gunnoe with regard to the services and resources made available not only through the Baby Pantry, but through Raleigh County Family Support Center as a whole.
“It might be connecting families to a resource, or they might need help filling out an application and eliminating barriers to receiving a service. We have lots of requests for things like birth certificates and Social Security cards and working through that process. We want to work to help provide families with whatever it is they need.”
Also included as part of the contribution were multiple items to be made available to caregivers through the RCFSC Baby Pantry. These included diapers, toys, books, serving dishes, and more.
