LEWISBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The State Fair of West Virginia announced yesterday that two new stars have been added to the performance bill for 2022’s SFWV Concert Series.
Contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Chris Tomlin will take the SFWV Concert Series stage on Wednesday, August 17.
Through his work – which includes hits such as “How Great is Our God,” “Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies,)” and “Our God” – Tomlin has amassed over 7 million record sales, as well a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album, 23 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, and 2 RIAA certified platinum albums.
Country hitmaker Walker Hayes has also been announced as one of the latest additions to the SFWV Concert Series lineup. The “Fancy Like” singer will serve as the Fair’s closing act on Saturday, August 20, and will be bringing along special guest Tigirlily.
Along with scoring a number hit late last year, Hayes has recorded numerous singles which have charted on the Country Airplay charts, as well as the Billboard Hot Country songs chart.
Hayes has also been nominated for a CMT Music Award, as well as an American Music Award. Though nominated for a 2022 Grammy in the Best Country Song category, he was beaten out by singer/songwriter Chris Stapleton and his song “Cold.”
Musical duo, Tigirlily (pronounced Tie-Girl-Lilly,) will act as the special guest for Hayes’ State Fair performance. The group, made up of sisters Kendra and Krista, became a viral sensation in 2021, with their track “Somebody Does” debuting at number 1 on the iTunes all-genre charts and being streamed over 2 million times.
