WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – Tristin Kinningham has announced his candidacy for the West Virginia House of Delegates in District 44, saying he is running to put local communities first and bring change to state government.
In his announcement, Tristin Kinningham said he was motivated by what he described as years of neglect across West Virginia, particularly in the coalfields. He criticized what he sees as elected officials prioritizing large corporations and Washington interests over the needs of everyday West Virginians.
Kinningham said his campaign is rooted in personal experience. He grew up in different parts of the West Virginia coalfields and said he has witnessed communities being left behind. In 2013, he moved to Beckley, where he worked in the restaurant industry before opening his own restaurant in 2018.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Charleston and said he has spent the past 13 years working and serving in local communities. A father of three, Kinningham said his decision to run is driven by a desire to improve the future for families across the district.
If elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates, Kinningham said his priorities would include supporting small businesses, protecting public schools, ensuring livable wages, implementing what he calls a fair tax plan, expanding access to affordable healthcare, and strengthening local communities.
“Together, we can put West Virginians first and work toward a better tomorrow,” Kinningham said, adding that he wants to ensure a brighter future for children across the state.
Kinningham will be seeking the House seat representing District 44 in the upcoming election.
