BUCKHANNON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two Buckhannon residents were arrested after deputies from the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office seized approximately 200 individual packages of suspected fentanyl during an investigation.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, deputies received a tip on Feb. 21 that a Buckhannon resident planned to transport fentanyl into West Virginia from another state.
Law enforcement identified a suspect vehicle, which was spotted on U.S. Route 33 on the night of Feb. 22.
When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled to the area behind the Wingate Hotel on Commerce Boulevard.
A subsequent search uncovered suspected fentanyl with an estimated street value of $3,000.
Authorities arrested Rebecca D. Glover, 41, who was charged with transporting fentanyl into the state, delivery of fentanyl, and conspiracy to deliver fentanyl.
Kelly D. Harvey, 40, was also arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and conspiracy to deliver fentanyl.
Deputy Gordon led the investigation, with assistance from the West Virginia State Police and the Buckhannon Police Department.
