FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two Meadow Bridge residents have been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on the evening of July 9, according to Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullen.
At approximately 9:15 p.m., Fayette County 911 received a report of a possible gunshot wound victim.

While the initial call came from a residence on Sewell Creek Road, investigators later determined the incident took place on Patterson Mountain Road.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department Detective’s Bureau, the victim was allegedly lured to the location under the false pretense of meeting a female.
Once the victim arrived, shots were fired at him.
Deputies are still working to determine whether the victim was struck by a bullet or injured by shrapnel and shattered glass from his vehicle.
The victim was treated for his injuries.
Following the investigation, two individuals were taken into custody:
Justin J. Akers, 21, of Meadow Bridge, is charged with:
- Attempted Murder (Felony)
- Malicious Wounding (Felony)
- Wanton Endangerment (Felony)
- Conspiracy (Felony)
- Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm (Misdemeanor)
Lucretia May Farnsworth, 19, of Meadow Bridge, is charged with:
- Attempted Murder (Felony)
- Malicious Wounding (Felony)
- Wanton Endangerment (Felony)
- Conspiracy (Felony)
Sheriff McMullen emphasized that both individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The investigation remains ongoing.
