WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two women were arrested on multiple drug charges Sunday following a traffic stop involving an ATV in Wyoming County, according to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department.
Corporal Matthew Perry conducted the traffic stop on Aug. 16 in the Clear Fork area near the Clear Fork Golf Course. During the stop, Perry and his K-9 partner, Cain, conducted an open-air sniff around the ATV, and the dog alerted to the odor of narcotics, according to the sheriff’s department.
The two occupants were identified as Dottie Schempp (Quesenberry) and Crystal Schempp.
Deputies said a search of Dottie Schempp allegedly resulted in the discovery of substances believed to be methamphetamine, fentanyl and crack cocaine, along with pregabalin, acetaminophen with codeine, diazepam and alprazolam.
Authorities also reported finding multiple pieces of aluminum foil and a black bag containing cash inside the front toolbox of the ATV. A large amount of cash was also allegedly found in Crystal Schempp’s wallet.
Both women were arrested and transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department for processing.
Dottie Schempp was charged with seven counts of possession with intent to deliver and drug conspiracy. Crystal Schempp was charged with drug conspiracy.
The sheriff’s department said the substances will be sent to the West Virginia State Police laboratory for further testing.
