RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Women United, a new affinity group associated with United Way of Southern West Virginia will launch on Monday, March 17th, 2025. Focused on building stronger communities, this group will be part of the powerful, global network within United Way, composed of more than 70,000 women leaders across more than 165 communities and six countries.
United Way of Southern West Virginia’s Women United will be a vibrant, diverse community of like-minded women leaders who contribute their personal passions, best ideas, and unique strengths to building a stronger southern West Virginia.
United Way’s Women United is the largest women’s philanthropy organization in the world. Since 2002, Women United has raised more than $2 billion to support the programs and initiatives led by United Way. Together they have focused on providing the building blocks for a better life and a stronger community – health, education, and financial security.
Local members of United Way’s Women United will be women leaders donating at the Leader’s Club level of $250+ per year. They will be encouraged to join sub-committees for involvement in the planning and execution of events and volunteer opportunities. Members will receive updates for networking and social opportunities, educational programs, and volunteer engagements.
Those women who qualify for membership based on their 2023-2024 United Way campaign gift will receive an invitation to the inaugural Women United luncheon at noon on Monday, March 17th at the Historic Black Knight Municipal Park.
