Chief Deputy Joe Parks has confirmed that Deputy Bish has been released from the hospital. He is walking and talking but will need to followup with a specialist.

KEGLEY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – A Mercer County deputy is in the hospital, and two suspects are in custody following a hit-and-run in Mercer County.
According to Chief Deputy Joe Parks, around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, Deputy Bish was struck by a vehicle on U.S. 19 near the Bluestone Health Center in Kegley.
Parks stated that the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office was investigating reports of two individuals seen unconscious in a vehicle in the Kegley area.
The driver was said to become aggressive with the officers. He struck Deputy Bish as he attempted to flee the scene.
The suspect, who has been identified as Matthew Davis, was pursued and quickly arrested by deputies on Old Route 71 in Montcalm. The female passenger in the vehicle was also arrested.
Park revealed that Davis had felony warrants out of the Mercer County Circuit Court. Davis will be facing additional charges, which will be determined based on Deputy Bish’s condition.
Bish was transported to Princeton Community Hospital by ambulance. He is expected to recover.
