WASHINGTON, D.C. (LOOTPRESS) – The United States Postal Service (USPS) announced that it has filed notice with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) regarding proposed price increases for shipping services, scheduled to take effect on July 13, 2025. The adjustments, recently approved by the USPS Board of Governors, aim to strengthen the agency’s financial footing while maintaining competitive service offerings.
Under the proposed changes, domestic shipping rates would rise by approximately 6.3% for Priority Mail, 7.1% for USPS Ground Advantage, and 7.6% for Parcel Select. Notably, prices for Priority Mail Express will remain unchanged.
Unlike mailing service price changes, which are linked to the Consumer Price Index, these shipping rate adjustments reflect broader market conditions. According to USPS leadership, the revised rates are intended to enhance the agency’s revenue while ensuring it remains a viable competitor in the shipping industry.
The rate changes align with the Postal Service’s 10-year strategic plan, Delivering for America, which seeks to modernize operations and improve long-term financial sustainability. The initiative supports USPS’s mission to provide reliable mail and package delivery across the nation at least six days per week, as mandated by Congress.
The PRC will review the proposed adjustments before they are implemented. Details of the full price filing, including all product rates, are available on the PRC’s website at prc.arkcase.com/portal/filings under Docket No. CP2025-7. Price tables can also be accessed via the Postal Service’s Postal Explorer site at pe.usps.com/PriceChange/Index.
