FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 35-year-old Mount Hope man is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop in Fayette County earlier this month, according to a criminal complaint.
West Virginia State Police said the incident occurred on January 19, 2026, on Paint Creek Road. Trooper First Class T.D. Richardson was assisting another trooper with a traffic stop when he observed two men sitting in the bed of the vehicle involved.
When asked for identification, both men told officers they did not have any.
One of the men provided the name “Brandon Morris” along with a date of birth but was unable to provide a Social Security number or any additional identifying information. Officers were unable to locate any records matching the information given.
According to the complaint, the man appeared nervous and was repeatedly looking around the area. Due to the inability to confirm his identity, he was placed in restraints while officers attempted to determine who he was and conducted a warrant check.
Police then used a fingerprint scanner issued by the West Virginia State Police, which identified the man as Brad Foster. Fingerprint results showed Foster had four active felony arrest warrants issued through the Raleigh County Magistrate Court.
Foster was taken into custody on the outstanding warrants and additionally charged with two counts of obstructing an officer and two counts of providing false information to the Department of Public Safety.
Foster is currently being held at the Southern Regional Jail.
