FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – As the West Virginia Legislature prepares to convene on February 12, advocacy groups are launching a statewide initiative to highlight the challenges of poverty, incarceration, and overdose deaths.
The West Virginia Listening Project: Stories for Change aims to amplify the voices of those directly affected by these crises and explore policy solutions for the 2025 legislative session.
Organized by the American Friends Service Committee with support from Hope in Action Alliance, Inc., The Reach Initiative, and the WV Criminal Law Reform Coalition, the project includes a series of community listening sessions across the state.
One of these sessions, covering Region 6, will take place on February 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gaines Estate, 225 W. Maple Avenue, Fayetteville, WV 25840.
Residents can register for their local session at this link.
