CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia Department of Health is proud to support the 2024 WV Physical Activity Symposium – Uniting Leaders for an ActiveWV happening at the Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, West Virginia, on May 29, 2024.
“The event is set to be a groundbreaking gathering of like-minded physical activity advocates striving to make a difference through their collective work,” said Eloise Elliot, Director of the Center for ActiveWV, College of Applied Human Sciences, WVU.
Featured speakers include West Virginia Department of Education State Superintendent of Schools, Michelle Blatt; Speaker of the West Virginia House of Delegates, Roger Hanshaw; Chancellor and Executive Dean of WVU Health Sciences, Dr. Clay Marsh; Federal Co-Chair of the Appalachian Regional Commission, Gayle Manchin; West Virginia Department of Health Sec. Sherri Young, D.O., MBA, FAAFP; and Dr. Matthew Christiansen, State Health Officer.
“At the Department of Health, improving health outcomes across the state is our top priority and increasing access to physical activity is a critical piece of that plan. I look forward to attending and exploring more ways we can work together to move the state forward,” said Sec. Young.
Due to limited space, event registration is by invitation-only and ends on May 10, 2024. Participants are welcome to transfer their registration within their organization to a colleague who would most benefit from attending the event.
