ORIGINAL STORY: Mingo Central High School has been placed on a precautionary lockdown Monday after officials received a verbal threat, according to the Mingo County Board of Education.
Law enforcement officers are on site and actively investigating the situation.
As a safety measure, entry to and exit from the school building have been temporarily restricted.
In a statement, the board said the safety and well-being of students and staff remain its highest priority while authorities work to ensure the campus is secure.
