CLARKSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has admitted to a federal firearms charge.
According to U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld, Jermel Matthew Williams, age 32, of Fairmont, West Virginia, has admitted to a firearms charge.
Williams pled guilty to one count of making a false statement in connection with the acquisition of a firearm.
According to court documents and statements made in court, investigators uncovered that Williams, a known drug user, falsified forms to purchase firearms from a licensed dealer in Fairmont.
Several of those guns later were discovered in crime investigations in California and Puerto Rico.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon Flower is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. Â
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives investigated.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided.
