MONONGALIA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Morgantown man is facing multiple charges following a shooting on Chestnut Ridge Road, according to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to 725 Chestnut Ridge Road on March 5 after receiving reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, they found a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to WVU Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A second person inside the targeted vehicle was not injured.
Following an investigation, deputies identified the suspected shooter as 48-year-old Herbert McDonald of Morgantown.
McDonald was later taken into custody without incident.
He was arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court and charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of wanton endangerment. His bond was set at $150,000.
Authorities also discovered that McDonald had three outstanding capias warrants, bringing his total bond to $190,000. He has been transported to the North Central Regional Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
