BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Boone County woman is facing charges after deputies say a domestic dispute escalated into an assault, the mistreatment of a kitten, and the alleged tampering of a pregnant family member’s vehicle.
According to a report from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to an active domestic disturbance at a residence on Navy Lane in Danville at approximately 11:42 a.m. on May 29.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the caller, identified as Deborah Plumley, and another individual involved in the dispute. While officers were attempting to separate the parties and conduct interviews, deputies witnessed Plumley take a small kitten from the victim’s shoulder and throw it to the ground.
Plumley reportedly told deputies that she and the victim had been arguing throughout the day over the kitten. According to the report, Plumley said she did not want the animal in her home and did not want to smell its waste.
The victim told deputies she had recently found the kitten underneath the trailer and brought it inside because it appeared to be sick and needed care.
According to the victim’s statement, the argument intensified throughout the morning. She alleged that Plumley entered her room and unplugged her television. When she stood up, the victim said Plumley struck her across the face and shoved her into an end table.
While one deputy was speaking with the victim, another deputy continued interviewing Plumley. During that conversation, Plumley allegedly made unsolicited statements indicating she planned to flatten a tire on her granddaughter’s vehicle.
Investigators said the granddaughter, identified as Victim 2, was approximately 16 weeks pregnant at the time of the incident. According to deputies, Plumley was aware the woman intended to travel shortly after the alleged tampering occurred.
The granddaughter later arrived at the residence and told deputies she noticed her tire pressure rapidly dropping while driving. After pulling over to inspect the vehicle, she discovered the valve stem cap had been unscrewed, according to the report.
Deputies collected written statements from those involved and photographed injuries allegedly sustained by the victim during the altercation.
The incident remains under investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office. Charges stemming from the domestic disturbance and vehicle tampering allegations were being pursued following the investigation.
The events occurred in the Danville area of Boone County, West Virginia.
