FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County woman was arrested Friday night following a reported domestic disturbance in the Nallen area.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched around 8:45 p.m. on April 10, 2026, to a residence on Russellville Road after 911 callers reported hearing a male screaming and indicated the situation had turned physical.
When officers arrived, they were met by the homeowner, who said her son and daughter-in-law had been arguing and that the disputes had become frequent.
Deputies located the individuals inside a bedroom, where the suspect, identified as Ruby Brown, was reportedly yelling and acting aggressively toward the victim, Russell Brown, even in the presence of law enforcement.
Officers separated the two and observed visible scratch marks on the victim’s back and side, which appeared consistent with injuries caused by fingernails. Photographs were taken at the scene.
Although the victim declined to provide a formal statement, deputies said the visible injuries and circumstances provided sufficient evidence to make an arrest.
Ruby Brown was taken into custody and charged with domestic battery. She was transported to Southern Regional Jail and is awaiting arraignment.
The incident remains under investigation.
