BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman was taken into custody after allegedly threatening residents with a knife and attempting to enter a home in Ashford, Boone County, on February 25, 2025.
At approximately 3:41 p.m., Boone County deputies R.B. Dotson and A. Shelton responded to a disturbance call reporting a female suspect walking through the neighborhood wielding a knife and making threats.
Incident Details
Upon arrival at Ashford Lane, deputies encountered the suspect, Johnna Childers, who threw the knife into a yard before entering an abandoned residence.
The victim told officers that Childers had been harassing him and elderly neighbors, attempted to force her way into his home, and threatened to kill him while holding a knife. The victim stated that Childers does not live in the neighborhood and had previously caused disturbances, leading him to fear for his safety.
Suspect Intoxicated, Provided False Information
When officers located Childers in a vacant trailer, she appeared intoxicated and unstable. She also provided multiple false birthdates and refused to give accurate identifying information.
Deputies recovered the knife from the victim’s yard, securing it as evidence.
Childers now faces multiple charges.
