FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A violent roadside incident in Scarbro has led to multiple felony charges after a woman was found injured and seeking help along a Fayette County roadway.
According to law enforcement, deputies were dispatched on April 16, 2026, to the area of Okey L. Patteson Road and Kim N Kass Lane after reports of a woman flagging down motorists and asking someone to call 911.
Upon arrival, officers located the woman near the entrance to St. Peter and Paul Cemetery Road. Authorities say she appeared visibly shaken and had blood on her hands, around her mouth, and near her ear, along with red marks around her neck and throat.
The victim told deputies that Victor Lancaster had assaulted her during an argument while they were traveling through the area. She said Lancaster became angry after accusing her of texting another man, though she stated she had been messaging someone about a home loan they were recently approved for.
According to the report, Lancaster allegedly attempted to choke the woman before she managed to escape from the vehicle. She told officers she had been walking for about a mile along Route 612 after getting away.
The victim further reported that Lancaster left the scene in her vehicle without permission, taking her dog, identified as “Mango,” along with her cell phone, credit card, and approximately $1,200 in cash.
Authorities say the woman also disclosed a history of recent abuse and noted she had previously filed a restraining order against Lancaster in Brooke County, which was dropped on March 18, 2026. She added that the pair had been staying in a hotel after their home was destroyed by fire and believed Lancaster may have been headed back to a Fairfield Inn in Weirton.
A “Be On the Lookout” alert was issued across multiple counties in an effort to locate Lancaster and recover the stolen property.
The victim was treated by emergency medical personnel at the scene before being transported to Plateau Medical Center for further evaluation. Officials noted she had multiple bruises consistent with prior incidents of abuse over recent weeks.
Following consultation with the Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Lancaster is expected to face several charges, including grand larceny, domestic battery (second offense), malicious or unlawful assault, and attempted crimes.
Authorities emphasized that the charges stem from the April 16 incident in Scarbro. The investigation remains ongoing.
