MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A tragic incident unfolded in Mercer County after a woman in her 20’s was shot dead in front of her family.
On August 26, 2024, at 7:37 am Mercer County Deputies responded to Brushfork Road in Brushfork, Mercer County WV, for a reported unwanted guest complaint. The complainant stated that her daughter’s estranged boyfriend was at the residence, refusing to leave.
While Deputies were responding, a resident close to Brushfork Road called 911 to report hearing gunshots.
Upon their arrival, they found a female in her late 20’s deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.
Shortly after arriving on scene, Mercer County 911 advised Deputies that the male shooter had been found by Bluefield Police Department, deceased, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The shooting death of the female was witnessed by her family, including children. Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department will not release the names of the involved parties.
