BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Members of the public have been invited to attend the Annual Open House & Awards Ceremony for the West Virginia Hive this week.
The event is scheduled to take place from 10:00am to 1:00pm on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Historic Black Knight Conference Center in Beckley. Those planning to attend need not register and the event is free of charge.
Featured as part of this year’s ceremony will be eleven distinct award categories which will recognize the outstanding achievements of entrepreneurs and businesspeople throughout the community.
Senior Program Officer at the Calude Worthington Benedum Foundation, Bill Woodrum will deliver keynote remarks as part of the ceremony. Woodrum is known for leading community and economic development initiatives throughout the state and has been an integral part of multiple projects implemented within the New River Gorge region.
Executive Director of the WV Hive and Deputy Director with the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority, Judy Moore spoke of the event as a celebratory gathering to recognize those in the local business community, as well as an opportunity for members of the community to explore a variety of local products.
“[The WV Hive Annual Open House & Awards Ceremony will be] a celebration of our clients and partners and the perfect opportunity to support local entrepreneurs,” said Moore. “From handcrafted goods to innovative offerings, attendees will have the chance to shop and directly support WV clients who will be selling their unique products at the event. In addition, enjoy the awards ceremony and connect with other business professionals as we honor the achievements of our entrepreneurial community.”
Awards will be presented in nearly a dozen categories, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Smal Business of the Year, Community Advocate of the Year, and more.
