WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A late-night domestic dispute led to a drug arrest in Wyoming County after a man was found with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Trooper B.M. Bane responded to a 911 call around 9:20 p.m. Thursday reporting a verbal altercation on WVCO Hollow Road. When the trooper arrived at approximately 10:00 p.m., he made contact with a woman who said she and Roger Poe had been arguing, but that he was preparing to leave.
As the trooper approached the front porch of Poe’s residence, he noticed Poe wearing a backpack and oversized jacket, with his hands in his pockets. Despite repeated commands to stop reaching into his pockets, Poe continued to do so, eventually admitting he believed he had marijuana on him.
Trooper Bane conducted a search and discovered methamphetamine, along with burnt foil and a snort straw — all signs of drug use. Poe was arrested on the spot for possession of a controlled substance.
The methamphetamine was later weighed at approximately 0.7 grams. Poe was processed at the West Virginia State Police Jesse Detachment before being transported to Southern Regional Jail, where he will remain in custody until the next session of Wyoming County Magistrate Court.
All charges stem from incidents that occurred in Wyoming County, West Virginia.
