WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Office of the Wyoming County Prosecutor presented a number of cases to the Wyoming County Grand Jury during the February 2022 term of court on February 6, 2023. The Grand Jury found sufficient evidence to indict the following persons:
HAROLD GENE LANE (46 yrs. old, Oceana, WV) for Malicious Assault, Domestic Battery 3rd offense, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Attempt to Disarm an Officer, Battery on an Officer, and Obstructing.
JOHN MICHAEL HUFF (32 yrs. old, Rhodell, WV) for Receiving or Transferring stolen property and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.
STEVEN ERIC BLANKENSHIP (36 yrs. old, Oceana, WV) for DUI causing Death, DUI Causing Serious Bodily Injury, and Driving Revoked for DUI.
JUSTIN LEE DUNCAN (31 yrs. old, Corinne, WV) for Fleeing with Reckless Indifference, Fleeing on Foot, Obstructing Two (2) Counts, No Insurance, and Speeding.
STEVIE LEE HATFIELD (59 yrs. old, Wyoming, WV) for Malicious Assault and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
JESSIE JAMES SPROUSE, JR. (58 yrs. old, Oceana, WV) for Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine and Possession of Controlled Substance without a Prescription.
Gregory Bishop is the Wyoming County Prosecutor. “I would like to thank the citizens who put their lives on hold to fulfill their civic duty by serving on the grand jury,” said Bishop, “Furthermore, we are pleased that the grand jury found enough evidence to indict these individuals for the very serious crimes for which they are accused.”
Jessie James Sprouse, Jr. will be arraigned on March 3, 2023. The remaining arraignments are scheduled for February 28, 2023.
