WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – An array of changes have emerged on the heels of the new year, including the (indefinite) dissolution of one of the most exciting musical acts out of the Wyoming County area in recent years, The Switch.
Made up of guitarist/vocalist Richard Lundy, guitarist Jacob “JJ” Johnson, drummer Ian Brown, and bassist Tanner Workman, the group garnered attention through consistent live performances throughout the state. These efforts would eventually culminate in the ensemble claiming victory in Charleston’s Battle of the Bands event, earning a performance spot at 2023’s Live on the Levee.
Despite attaining local success through their steadfast commitment to the classic rock sound of the 70s and 80s, the foursome would play their final show on New Year’s Eve at Sam’s Uptown Cafe in Charleston.
A statement released on Tuesday by the band confirmed the musicians’ intentions to go their separate ways for a time in what was called, “an indefinite hiatus.”
“The Switch will be taking an indefinite hiatus starting this year,” the band revealed, citing a desire to follow their own individual paths. “Music will and always will be a part of our lives. While life and our paths have made us musical brothers, we also all have our own separate paths.”
The statement, attributed to all four members, also found the outfit expressing gratitude to their fans and supporters, writing,
“We’ll never forget the memories and we’ll never forget our supporters. Thank you for these past few years.”
