BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Beckley’s 31st annual Chili Night has been rescheduled due to potentially conflicting weather conditions.
The beloved local event, which was initially set to take place on Saturday, October 1st, 2022, has been moved to the following weekend, Saturday, October 8th, 2022 per a Thursday afternoon announcement from the Beckley Events Committee.
The potential rescheduling of the event was touched upon briefly by Mayor Rob Rappold at Tuesday evening’s session of the Beckley Common Council.
“I was asked my opinion and I [said] that I’d defer to [the Beckley Events] Committee,” said Mayor Rappold.
“They do the groundwork, they know. They’ve rolled the dice before, and we do have alternatives.”
While moving the event to an indoor venue was also an option being considered by the committee, it appears the celebration will remain outdoors, and will take place the second weekend of October.
