BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Many Christmas activities are planned at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine for this weekend November 25th & 26th, and for next weekend December 2nd and 3rd from 5-9 PM.
The property will be lit up with many Christmas lights and Christmas caroling will be heard throughout the evening. Individuals can also take part in ice skating while surrounded by the many Christmas lights, it will feel like you’re in a Hallmark movie!
The ice skating rink will be open until Sunday, December 4th Monday – Thursday from 1-8 pm, Friday and Saturday 1-9 pm, and Sunday 1-6 pm.
The mine itself will also be open for tours as a veteran coal miner will lead the trip down sharing the tales of the once-booming days of coal mining in West Virginia. After the underground history lesson, the Youth Museum’s hands-on exhibit – Toys: The Inside Story – will engage the young’uns. There will also be a Christmas ornament workshop in the Youth Museum.
The cost for admission to the Appalachian Coal Town Christmas is $12.50 per adult and $10 per child. Underground tours and ice skating are included in the festival pass.
