The Senate seat for District 11 has been claimed in a close race by Robert Karnes (R), who won against current member of the West Virginia Legislature, Denise Campbell (D). Karnes, a former member of the West Virginia Senate, represented the 11th district from January of 2015 until he lost re-election to Bill Hamilton in 2018.
For his second term in the senate, Karnes- coauthor of Amendment 1, which put an end to taxpayer-funded abortion in WV- shared that he will work to improve education, protect freedoms and grow jobs.
Karnes has worked in the IT industry for over three decades. He has owned and operated several small businesses including IT services, retail sales and self-storage. While in the WV Senate, Karnes chaired the Committees on Natural Resources, Agriculture & Rural Development and Pensions. He also chaired the Select Committee on Tax Reform and Vice Chaired the Education Committee.
