HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Huntington Police Department has announced that 3 out of the 4 suspects wanted in connection to a November murder in Huntington have been arrested.
Police say the three suspects were arrested Friday, Jan. 27, and charged in connection with the Nov. 30 murder of Christopher Johnson.
On November 30th, Christopher Johnson was found near 18th Street and 9th Avenue, where he was the victim of a shooting. He died at a local hospital a short time later, as a result of his injuries.
Huntington Police Detectives have identified Malik Hawk (25 years old – Charleston, WV), Lawrence Foye (37 years old – St. Albans, WV), Demarquis Patterson (19 years old – Charleston, WV), and Matthew Daughtery (24 years old – Charleston, WV) as the suspects in Johnson’s murder.
On Friday, just after 3 p.m., a Hurricane Police officer, working traffic enforcement on Interstate 64, stopped a vehicle for speeding.
With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals CUFFED Task Force, Malik Hawk and Lawrence Foye were identified as occupants inside the vehicle and were taken into custody for the outstanding murder warrants filed by Huntington Police detectives.
Then, at approximately 6:30 p.m. in Buffalo, WV, members of the U.S. Marshals CUFFED Task Force located Demarquis Patterson, and he was taken into custody.
Authorities are attempting to locate the fourth suspect, Matthew Daughtery, who also has an active murder warrant for his arrest.
