He attended Matoaka High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of Cook’s Chapel at Pinoak. “J. P” retired from General Motors in Flint, Michigan, was a member of UAW and loved Buicks and Cadillacs. He was member of the Bluegrass Association and enjoyed fishing and NASCAR.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son, Mark Anthony Walker; siblings, Oma Slone, Louise Ratliff, Helen Davis, Leuanna Gullion, Masil Cecil and Voris Caruso; one grandson and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lemuel Warden, Jr. and Estelle Warden.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Rita Warden Walker; children, Jimmy Dean, Tammy, Tim, Eddie and Jerry; one brother, Dale Walker (Carol); 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Cecil officiating and Eddie Warden assisting. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Princeton where military honors will be conducted by Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may visit with the family from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour.
