VALLEY HEAD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities are currently seeking information pertaining to an individual involved in a Tuesday vehicle accident near the Valley Head area.
According to reports from Deputy L.R. Elbon of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, December 1, 2022, county units responded to a two-vehicle accident at 219 North just outside Valley Head.
Upon arrival on the scene, Deputy Elbon spoke with Darren Woodford, the driver of a Saturn Ion involved in the accident.
Woodford advised that as he was traveling home from work from Snowshoe, a silver Chrysler 300 backed into the roadway and into the path of his vehicle.
Woodford advised that he locked the brakes on his vehicle and swerved to miss the Chrysler before leaving the roadway and going over an embankment.
At this point, the driver of the Chrysler exited the vehicle and asked if Woodford was okay before taking a large tank from the trunk of the vehicle, with the help of the vehicle’s passenger, and running to another vehicle, then fleeing the accident scene altogether.
