BECKLEY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – Registration is currently open for the YMCA of Southern West Virginia’s 2021-2022 Youth Basketball League. The league is open to Pre-K through sixth-grade students and will give them the opportunity to dribble, pass and shoot their way to fun.
The Y’s Youth Recreational Basketball League features four divisions from instructional, fundamental sessions to competitive leagues. Players are evaluated and placed on teams for even competition levels. All participants will play.
Registration is open now until October 31 without late fees.
Pricing is as follows:
- IDDY-BIDDY (Pre-K & Kindergarten): $40; Instructional division that will work on teaching kids the FUNdamentals of basketball.
- BIDDY-B (1st-2nd Grade): $40; Division conducts controlled games, where coaches will be able to stop play to coach and instruct. Scores and records will not be kept.
- BIDDY (3rd-4th Grade) & BUDDY (5th-6th Grade): $70; Scores will be kept and games will be officiated. Players in these divisions will have an opportunity to make all-star teams that will compete in the annual Chick-Fil-A Roundball Classic. Practice is once a week at the YMCA.
