(St. Albans, WV) Bloomingdale Baptist (4-1) cruised past the Ignite Flames (0-5) 54-28 on the road for their 3rd straight win. While The Bloom’s offense started a little sluggish, their defense kept the Flames at bay until they could get their offense in a rhythm.
Caleb McClung (Jr., G) was the one who sparked that rhythm by going 6 of 7 from downtown and finishing with a season high 20 points. After only 3 attempts from beyond the arc in the first 4 games, McClung said he drew confidence from the popular Bible verse Philippians 4:13 which reads, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
In addition to McClung, Marc Brown (Jr., G) contributed to the win with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks. Sutton Roten (Sr., F) notched his 3rd double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Flames were led by Charlie Hanks with 9 points. Braxton Stricklin also contributed 8 points.
The Bloom will go back home Thursday night to take on the West Logan Christian Academy Warriors at 7:00. Meanwhile, Ignite will have a few days off before playing Belpre Christian Academy on Saturday at 5:30 at home. All Bloomingdale games are livestreamed on their Facebook page.
