Below are the candidates for the first week of the prep baseball season. Voting will close Wednesday, March 27 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.
If the top vote getter has already won a community choice poll, the next leading vote getter who has not won will be named that week’s community choice winner.

- Owen Taylor, Winfield – 3 for 7 with 3 runs scored, 3 RBI and a double in three wins last week
- Cole Richardson, Buffalo – 7IP, 5 H, 1ER allowed in 3-1 pitching win vs. Wahama. Also had one RBI in each game in wins vs. Scott and Gilmer County last week.
- Jonah DiCocco, Charleston Catholic – DiCocco batted .778 across four games with 7 hits and 5 RBIs for the 4-0 Irish.
- Eli Simonton, Sissonville – Pitched 7 inning allowing 2 earned runs with 8Ks. On offense he went 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI in 11-3 win vs. Chapmanville
- Brogan Samms, St. Albans – Triple, 2 runs scored and an RBI in 9-1 win vs. Parkersburg; stolen base, 3 runs scored and an RBI in 13-3 win vs. Riverside
- Corbin Dixon, George Washington – Grand slam in 5-2 win at Hurricane; 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI in 14-2 win vs. Capital
- Evan Wilson, Capital – 2 for 3 with a double, triple and an RBI, pitching 2 innings with 6 Ks in 14-3 win vs. Sherman
- Carter McClung, Scott – 1 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI including the game-winner, in a 4-3 win vs. Herbert Hoover
- Braxton Burke, South Charleston – 3 for 4 with a double and a triple, 2 RBI on offense, 3 IP with 3 hits allowed, 1 earned run with 7 Ks in 17-2 win vs. Poca
