FAIRLEA, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – There is still time to see the State Fair of West Virginia fairground’s holiday light display! The second annual Christmas at the fair will be open for the last time this season on Thursday, December 23, 2021.
The event, which welcomed more than 11,000 cars in 2020, gives drivers a unique view of the fairgrounds as it is filled with thousands of colored lights rather than people carrying fair food and ride tickets.
The display route begins behind the livestock barn, weaving past the Grand Marketplace, around a Christmas Tree display and down Blue Ribbon Drive before exiting back onto 219 North.
As patrons drive through the display, they can tune into the fair’s radio station to enjoy the sounds of Christmas along with the sights. Vendors will be present at the event, as well as sweet snacks such as funnel cakes, deep-fried Oreos, hot chocolate, coffee and more.
Drivers are asked to support the State Fair of West Virginia by donation only. According to event organizers, all donations support the programs that promote the traditions of agriculture, education and family entertainment. Donate straight from your phone here.
Thursday’s display will be open from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visit statefairofwv.com to view the light show route.
