The Concord University Athletic Department unveiled its new logo Friday, ahead of the start of the 2021-2022 sports year.
The logo was designed with the assistance of Pikewood Creative and designer Daphnelys Olivera.
“We were looking to update our athletics logo to something that is more modern and that our student-athletes, coaches, community supporters and the campus as a whole can be proud of,” Concord Director of Athletics Kevin Garrett said via a press release. “We landed on the aggressive-looking Mountain Lion while integrating our recognizable interlocked CU in the new logo.
“I want to thank Dan Lohmann of Pikewood Creative for getting the ball rolling on this project and Daphnelys Olivera for her hard work on this final design,” Garrett continued.
The logo is a departure from the previous one, shown below. The interlocking CU logo will still be in use by the department.
