CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Delegate Christopher Toney recently announced a $7,500 grant for Liberty High School’s Baseball program.
The funds will be utilized for Liberty’s baseball team to help purchase equipment and field material for their baseball field.
Toney secured this funding through the Local Economic Development Assistance program; additional, funds provided by legislative appropriation are reserved to assist communities throughout West Virginia.
“This will be a wonderful upgrade for our baseball program. The new equipment will not only support our student athletes, but it will also be very beneficial for the entire community,” Toney said. “Our children deserve all we can give them, and I will always pursue every opportunity I have to help our region.”

Toney who serves as Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Education, was first elected to the Legislature in 2018. He presented a check to Athletic Director Jimmy Workman and Coach Jonathan Hall at Liberty High School in Glen Daniel on January 12.
