Deputy Redden isn’t the only Raleigh County Officer to receive recognition this week for his hard work, however.
In a Tuesday meeting of the Raleigh County Commission, Lieutenant William Killen and Lieutenant Benny Halstead were recognized for their heroic actions that saved the life of an unresponsive 14-month old toddler last month.
Sheriff Van Meter referred to the officers as “heroes” during the session for their selfless, lifesaving work. Lt. Killen and Lt. Halstead were awarded commemorative plaques by the commission.
