Eleanor Louise Barrett Cook passed away peacefully on Monday April 22, 2024, at the age of 89 in Beckley.
She was born on August 6, 1934, in Brenton, the daughter of the late Guy and Thelma Cook Barrett.
Louise was a devoted, hard-working woman whose life centered around her eight children, grandchildren and church family at Christian Family Worship Center. Her passion for flower gardening, crafting, and gospel music brought joy to those around her. She was a pillar of strength for her family and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Paris Eugene Cook; her sons, Gregory, and Byron Cook; grandchildren, BJ Hammitt, Garrett Cook, and Aimee Ruiz; her daughter-in-law, Betty Cook and several other beloved family members. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Â Pamela Hall, Gary Cook, Jeanette Hall, Marta Mitchell and her husband Terry, Jeffery Cook, Mark Cook, Keith Cook and his wife Angie: twenty-four grandchildren, Â Angela Toler and her husband Brendon, Ernie Hall and his wife Chandra, Nikki Hall, Jamie Blankenship and her husband Eugene, Josh Hall and his wife Danielle, Misty Ellis and her husband Mike, Chris Mitchell, Kimberly Gammon and her husband Gary, Aaron Cook, Brittany Besl and her husband Joey, Ryan Cook and his wife Jessi, Emily Cook, Chloe Cook, and Sydney Sheppard and her husband Jordan; thirty- one great- grandchildren: Tristan Toler and Jaiden, Sierra Toler and Elijah, Hunter Hall and Kelsey, Tanner Hall and Kaitlyn, Hannah Blankenship, Hayden Blankenship, Reagan Ryder, Brynlee, MaKenna , and Emersyn Hall, MeKensi Hedrick and Clayton, Stevy Kirkland and Rocky, Kylie Kirkland, Brayden and Kaden Ellis, Shianne and Johnny Villorin, Jordan and Savannah Mitchell, Anna Samples, Brier, Piper, Maizey, Zane Cook, Grayson, Easton, Scarlett Besl, Sage Cook, and Oliver Sheppard ( due in June); Â five great- great grandchildren, Willow Perdue, Briggs Toler, Asher and Bristol Hall and Deagen Hedrick; Â her pastor, Â Bill Goode and Matt Campbell who will officiate her service.
