CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flash flood warning for multiple West Virginia counties.
The NWS has issued a flash flood warning for central Kanawha County in the area of Wicher Creek until 12 PM EST.
At 6:57 AM, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 4 inches in 1 hour.
Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
The NWS says that this is a flash flood emergency for Wicher Creek and that this is a particularly dangerous situation.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Chesapeake, Marmet, Belle, Cedar Grove, East Bank, and Glasgow.
There is currently a flash flood warning in effect for Roane County, Braxton County, Calhoun County, and Clay County until 12:30 PM EST on Monday.

warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Big Otter, Wallback, Amma, Nebo, Servia, and Wilsie.
There is also a flash flood warning in effect for west central Boone County until 12:30 PM EST.
At 7:27 AM, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area.
Flash flooding is also ongoing or expected to begin in these areas shortly.
Another flash flood warning has been issued for northeastern Boone County and central Kanawha County until 1:15 PM EST.
At 7:17 AM, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in Racine, Seth, and the surrounding area.
