MARION COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Lane closures for both I-79 northbound and southbound are set to begin Monday.
According to WV511, there will be a lane closure on Interstate 79 northbound, at mile marker 132 (South Fairmont), to mile marker 133 (Kingmont), from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2023, through Thursday, October 19, 2023.
The purpose of the closure is for crews to construct the Tygart River Bridge crossover, to allow the northbound traffic onto the new section of the bridge. Construction will be occurring 24/7.
There will be a lane closure on Interstate 79 northbound, at mile marker 132 (South Fairmont), to mile marker 133 (Kingmont), from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023, through Saturday, October 21, 2023, for crews to construct the Tygart River Bridge crossover, to allow the northbound traffic onto the new section of the bridge.
Work is being done at night to minimize the impact on the traveling public.
There will be a lane closure on Interstate 79 southbound, at mile marker 132 (South Fairmont), to mile marker 133 (Kingmont), from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2023, through Saturday, October 21, 2023, for crews to pour the Kingmont Bridge deck, and install the roadway barriers and line stripping.
Work is being done at night to minimize the impact on the traveling public.
Motorists are to expect major delays. Motorists are advised to plan and allow additional time for their commute.
Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
