BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Man motions for clerk attendant to come to the beer cave; once she does, he starts shaking his genitals at her. He then stole a $2.99 bottle of motor oil.
On September 1, 2024, PFC. H. Redden initiated an indecent exposure investigation that occurred at the Little General store located at 404 3rd Ave, Beckley, WV. Redden spoke with the victim, an employee at the store. She reported that on August 28, 2024, during her regular shift around 11:40 AM, the defendant, Marwin McHenry, entered the store and began acting oddly.
She then stated that she observed McHenry loitering near the women’s restroom. He then entered the store’s “Beer Cave” and motioned for her to come over. When she opened the door to the Beer Cave, she saw that McHenry had pulled his penis out of his pants and was shaking it at her. She then made McHenry leave the store.
Redden reviewed the store’s security footage, corroborating the victim’s account. The footage showed McHenry entering the store, approaching the women’s restroom, and entering the Beer Cave. In the Beer Cave, McHenry was seen setting down his belongings, adjusting his pants, and exposing himself to the clerk. However, the camera did not capture the total exposure due to the necklace he was wearing.
The footage also showed McHenry taking a $2.99 bottle of motor oil from the store’s shelves and concealing it in his pocket without paying. McHenry has been trespassed from the property since April 2, 2023. A criminal history check revealed prior convictions for shoplifting in the Beckley Municipal Court.
Based on the evidence, Redden will be charging McHenry with indecent exposure, trespassing, and third-offense shoplifting. The incident occurred in Beckley, Raleigh County.
