OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An Oak Hill man is behind bars after he allegedly pulled a knife on an employee at Tractor Supply because she was looking at him.
According to Oak Hill Police, on January 17, 2024, officers were dispatched to Tractor Supply for a man who had brandished a knife at an employee before leaving the store. The victim said Jody Sowder left on a bike. Police observed the suspect riding a bike on East Main Street and detained him.
The officer drove the suspect back to Tractor Supply to gather statements. Witnesses say that Jody Sowder was in the store and began yelling at one of the female employees because she was looking at him. The employee then asked Sowder to leave the store, and he refused. Sowders began walking towards the door, yelling before he drew a knife from his waist and threatened to stab two employees.
Police were able to collect video evidence and written statements from all employees who witnessed the event.
Sowder is charged with brandishing a deadly weapon. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 2,500 dollar bond.
