MARION COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On March 5th, the Volunteers at Valley VFD were alerted for 3 separate vehicle accidents within 4 hours of each other.
At approximately 9:05 AM in the morning Valley VFD responded with 6 volunteers as automatic mutual aid with Monongah VFD for a vehicle accident on Manuel Drive with possible entrapment. Crews arrived to find a single vehicle into a tree with no injuries or entrapment.
At 12:15 PM, Valley VFD was alerted for a vehicle accident with possible injuries on Whitehall Blvd near Hardee’s. Crews responded along with Engine-124 from its Whitehall Station. As crews were responding to this incident, more first responders were alerted as automatic mutual aid with the Boothsville VFD for a vehicle accident with entrapment on Middletown Road near Billatina Lane.
This incident was a single vehicle that crossed all four lanes from Hardee’s and struck the guardrail. The driver of the vehicle was transported for unknown injuries. Crews operated on this incident for approximately 30 minutes.
Crews also responded to Middletown Road to find a two-vehicle head-on accident with heavy damage. There were confirmed injuries in this accident. The road was then closed and first responders provided patient care until Marion County Rescue Squad arrived. Squad-10 from Monongah VFD also assisted.
Firefighters assisted with packaging and loading the patients along with cleanup. North Marion and Hawkins Towing recovered the vehicles. Whitehall Police Department is handling this incident.
