Mary Bell Wiley, 89 of Commonwealth Senior Living, Cedar Bluff, VA, went home to be with the Lord Monday, April 15, 2024. Born in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late George and Bertha Head Dillon.
loved the Lord and church and attended Tip Top Church of God. She enjoyed meeting people and helping others. She loved quilting and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was passionate in her love and affection for her family, including her nieces and nephews and her grandson, Cody.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Charles Crocket Bowman; her second husband: Keaster Dean Wiley; siblings: Alexander McKinley Dillon, Gordon VanBuren Dillon, Joseph Howard Dillon, Dewey Frank Dillon, George Elmer Dillon, Roger Lee Dillon, Thomas Allen Dillon, Nathaniel Webster Dillon, Grover Lewis Dillon, Ruby Virginia Hall Boggs, Pearl Magdalene Phipps and her infant, twin sister: Margaret Dillon.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Charlotte Bowman Farris of N. Tazewell, VA; grandson: Charles Cody Farris of Bluefield, VA; nieces, who were like daughters to her: Joan Alford (Matthew) of Lynchburg, VA and Tammie Slusher (Les) of Falls Mills, VA.
A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Darrell Wiley .
Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 11:00 A.M., until the hour of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
