HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Hoops Family Children’s Hospital greeted their very first set of twins of 2024 last month, welcoming two twin girls weighing 2lbs, 12oz and 2lbs, 11.5oz, respectively.
The facility shared the news on Wednesday, detailing the heartwarming arrival and positive family experience, even in the face of the decidedly early arrival of the newborn siblings.
Remington and Reese made their arrival at 11:08am on January 2, 2024, according to Hoops Family Children’s Hospital, with Remington – affectionately referred to as Remi – weighing 2lbs, 12oz and measuring 14 Âľ inches, while Reese arrived at 2lbs, 11.5oz, measuring 15 inches.
The twins were born at 28 weeks gestation, giving rise to a certain degree of concern for those involved regarding the health of the children. Yet, in spite of these initial concerns, the experience has ultimately been a positive one, the twins’ mother, Charlee says.
“It was very scary to think about them coming that early. But honestly, it’s been a very good experience,” she told HFCH. All the staff have been very good to our girls as well as my husband and I. I couldn’t be more grateful for the care and compassion they’ve shown us.”
At the time of the update from HFCH, the two were continuing to grow stronger each day in the facility’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
“We are always happy when families share their stories – and adorable babies – with us,” said HFCH. “Remi and Reese, we can’t wait to watch you grow stronger every day!”
